Once a procedure has been authored and linked to associated assets, it's ready to be executed. Anyone with the User role can run one of the available procedures.
Launching the procedure
Before launching a procedure, ensure that the required test device(s) has been connected to the PC, powered on, and have been detected in OneQA. Icons for connected test devices will display in the main navigation bar:
There are multiple avenues to locate and launch a procedure:
- From the Assets tab - locate the asset of interest by searching its ID, serial number, model, or manufacturer. Then, in the Procedures subtab, find and Run the appropriate procedure.
- From the Procedures tab - locate the procedure by searching its title or service type. Then, in the Assets subtab, find and Run for the asset you are servicing.
- From a third-party application - Obtain the URI address of the procedure and invoke it from an external app. See more details in the OneQA API documentation. (pending)
Once in Run mode, notice that the static components Test activity, Asset information, and Test device information in the Test Setup section are populated with run details. At this point, you should also key in the Work Order ID that this service activity is associated with, if applicable.
Executing test components

Individual execution - Individual components can be executed by interacting with them directly.
- Generic components like Questions, Text entry, and Numerical entry require user inputs to record a result.
- Electrical safety components that display a (run) symbol will, when executed, automate the connected Electrical Safety Analyzer to obtain a result:
The user will be prompted if physical interaction is required, such as reconnecting a test lead, etc.

- Defibrillator and pacemaker components are generally executed by activating the rows that appear in the Test Values section of the component. When executed, they automate the Impulse to set up a test, and often require interaction with a defibrillator or pacemaker to obtain a result:

Auto-sequence - As an alternative to individual execution, all automated components can be run in a sequence by invoking the (auto-play) button located along the lower banner.
Note: For electrical safety tests, test optimization can be enabled in the Electrical Safety Settings component during authoring. With this feature enabled, invoking auto-play will skip between electrical safety tests in a sequence optimized for time efficiency.
Exiting the procedure
There are a few options for exiting a procedure in progress:
- Finish - If all required steps are complete and all results have been recorded, click Done to save the data as a result in the Data tab. If your tenant has been configured to require approvals by an authorized Approver, it will first appear in the Approve subtab.
- Save - If execution is for some reason interrupted, click Save and close to preserve any recorded results to resume later in the In Progress subtab.
- Discard - To discard any progress, click Cancel or exit the application - everything not saved will be lost.
